Wind protection is not the best. we had 20-25 kn S sustained winds all night that pushed hard on our anchor line. However, the holding was os amazing that once the anchor set, we didn't budge a single inch.
It is a very popular spot with the locals and there are no wake restrictions in that area so it can be busy and wavy during the day with lots of boats anchoring out.
Muskegon Lake was primarily an industry hub so there are lots of large ships and shipping industry views to see.
This anchorage is a couple miles across the lake from downtown, so ease of access to downtown Muskegon is difficult. there are several very good restaurants in Muskegon along with 2 different Naval vessels museums including a WWII Submarine and a WWII Normandy invasion transport vessel.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This area is VERY popular with locals on weekends as several dozens of boats will anchor in the shallow water near the shore. There is a lot of boat traffic on the weekends and evenings.
Good wind protection from the west.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
