Arrived at the bridge at 5:15 pm and hailed the bridge on channel 9 multiple times to no avail. Sounded our horns as and alternate multiple times with no response. Contacted local Sheriffs Dept. and tried another phone number but didn’t work. Ended up tying up under twin bridge for the night. Phone # goes to a fax machine.

Depth boards for this bridge stated 23’ not 27’

    • WG Editor Comment:

Charted vertical clearance is 27 feet. This is also the clearance listed in the Coast Pilot.

  • Marina Review for Pelagic Hunter Fishing Center (New River Marina)

New River Marina is a great stop for fuel with the best prices around and friendly service. They have a ships store which contains most anything you would need for repairs or boat supplies with reasonable prices. It's not the Hilton, its a boat yard which provides a great service to cruisers. We'll make it a stop on our trips north and south for sure.
