Water, check. Power, check. Great bathrooms, check. Laundry, check. Pump-out, no check, but once they do this will be a five star rating. Agree with prior reviews on quality and selection of store clothing and liquor. Good prices, too. This place got badly flooded by Helene in 2024, but has recovered and the facilities are new. Had a great evening at the huge restaurant and bar - excellent flatbread and shrimp cooked just perfectly, and a friendly staff. And just as I was about to despair over leaving the reasonable dockage rates on the rivers, Deadman's restored the faith - currently $1.50/ft. Approach is a long straight channel. We came in at two hours past low tide and had sufficient clearance for our five foot draft. Once inside the river and out of the Gulf the channel twists and turns but it also gets deeper. No depth issues at the dock. Would repeat.

Agree with prior posts. Forget the creek. Way too tight for our Fleming 55. Anchored here 11/17/25 with four other boats in front of sandy shoreline. Great holding. Thirteen to fifteen foot depths close to shore. Sounds of crickets and crows. Other boats used ramp to walk dogs. Would definitely repeat.

  • Marina Review for F. Grant Moore Municipal Marina

No room at the marina in Charlevoix, so we decided to explore Lake Charlevoix and found a place to dock at Boyne city. Laurie at the office is a looper who finished in 2015 and relocated to Boyne city. She is an unflagging advocate of this small city and made us feel very welcome. Our charts did not show the large T dock where she put our 60 foot power boat. She knows her prevailing breezes and put us on the correct side of the dock for a night of sound sleep. The marina facilities are typical municipal cinderblock, older, but clean and well-maintained. The price was right. And Boyne city was a pleasant stop with hiking and provisioning opportunities Since it's still a bit sporty out on Lake Michigan visiting Boyne city also gave us the option of stopping in round Lake for a tour of Charlevoix. An enjoyable diversion all around. Would recommend and repeat.

We needed a spot to leave our Fleming 55 for a couple of weeks and head home. Outer Harbor proved to be just the ticket. The Marina was terrific about communicating, and walking me through the Toronto operator's requirement. Help with docking was good, and the fuel and pump-out stations were easy to get to. The marina is well organized and staffed. Shout out to Craig and Keith for their help and communication. And a big shout out to Anthony at Puddle Duck services - Anthony did a very nice job with routine oil changes, not-so routine coolant flush, and a few miscellaneous jobs while we were away from the boat. The marina is a bit removed from the city, but with easy Uber access. The location worked well for us, as I was much more comfortable leaving the boat in an outer harbor location than in a city marina. Would repeat.

Super disappointed that Sunday 6 am to noon posted on Sea Fuel website was not accurate. The website is regularly updated with fuel costs, so updating hours should be no big deal. Went out of my way in reliance on their website site hours. Sea Fuels negligence is not acceptable.
