Absolutely beautiful at night because of city lights and colorful lights on the huge bridge. did not experience troublesome wakes, but the current running through here is strong and never stops so may want to drop a second anchor for stability-or not. About 2 days into the stay we realized our anchor was stuck. Spent the next 3 days trying to free it. A huge obstacle was the seemingly abandoned sailboat which was swinging on its anchor and evidently drifting a bit too. Attempts to reposition our boat to work on freeing our anchor were hobbled by the other boat's movement. US Boat said any help we could use 'wasn't covered'. Of course. Our only recourse was to sacrifice our anchor. Funny but in the course of our trouble we let out our 2nd anchor and when we pulled it up there was another anchor (some had dumped) hanging on our line! The nice we cut the chain we moved to the Plaza Marina together ourselves. Neighbors there informed us that there is a lot of debris in that anchorage; rebar, cement blocks and metal which was disposed of there when the bridge was worked on.
I would not recommend this anchorage.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This is a beautiful dock and in really good shape for a free dock! Current was dicy when we came in but during the day and night the water is quite calm. We stayed here 3 nights. Saw lots of boats go by which was entertaining. In the distance we could also see large cruise ships and huge cargo ships headed to/from the Atlantic. Quite impressive. The surrounding grass lands are abundant with shore birds, turtles, etc. A very relaxing and scenic spot. Dock can easily accommodate 8-10 boats as evidently both sides can be used but only one side has cleats. And yes, the seemingly abandoned sailboat is still here.

Came in for a 10-day stay for our 42' MY while we traveled for a vacation and had some prop work done. They had put us in a slip that they had evidently promised to someone else. Prop work was delayed due to Independence Day holiday - out of our control, and the logistics and communication between marina manager and various staff was sorely lacking and put us in the middle of their internal frustration. I'm sure marina staff deal with things out of the ordinary very frequently but this staff did not appear to have those tools! Nevertheless, boaters who call this place home speak positively about this marina. Fuel prices good, nice ships store, nice laundry and grill area. 20 min walk to Pier 220 restaurant, which I highly recommend! Great food!! Decent food selection at Save-a-lot (20 min walk). 4th of July fireworks were staged at the park just across the marina so we were directly under the show!

Boats were fun to watch though-yes, there were wakes but nothing crazy. People were not racing. Best part is that there is a fabulous marina and restaurant (Outriggers Tiki Bar & Grill) that you can dinghy to and dock while at the restaurant with outside seating to watch the boats come and go (good inside seating too!). We were there during snapper season so got to watch the big, pricy, fishing boats come-in festivities and cleaning their fish. Obviously we left the boat in the anchorage as we took the dinghy around the bend to the restaurant , but you have to go there!

Several other boats there that look like they may call it home, but there is plenty of room. Good holding with little swing. We did not experience a lot of boat/wake activity. Nice breeze through the area and gorgeous sunset. Just follow the red line in from the channnel to keep you in plenty of depth heading in. Good depth while anchored. Visited by dolphins, big birds and fish activity.

Stayed for a week in June '25. 2nd day there the city was struck by a T-storm which knocked out power which was predicted to be out another 2 weeks. So, no a/c, etc and had to run on generator. Not their fault however offered a small discount. Marina easy to navigate in and out. The amphitheater on the near shore had alot of activity- several graduations during our stay. Very noisy, but could be nice if there was a good concert! About 20 min walk to restaurants. Noticed the docks were patrolled by officers a lot.

Stayed 1 night on June 11, 2025. Staff was helpful however unable to assist with arrival/departure. Said not to drink the water so we did not fill the water tank. Restaurant was good service. Friendly and food was good. Watch depth as you approach the dock. Better to tie up in the middle of the dock rather than the first spaces as you enter the channel. Lewiston lock not working so we just motored through.
