This anchorage is delightful, especially if you need deep water. While there are a couple of very NARROW spots in the channel, our 8-foot draft had NO PROBLEM coming all the way in. Once we got the anchor to catch, it held very well, but the weather was very nice and so our anchor hold was not tested. The views are pretty, the day dock is handy, and we had no problems with bugs at the anchorage.

Local knowledge advised to drop the hook on North side of the channel west of old marina docks in 11-15 feet of water rather than 30 on south side of the anchorage. All round wave protection & wind protection N through NE. Low island marsh in other directions. Manageable reversing tidal current.
