Description:
Convenient place to overnight before heading to Manteo, etc. There is a 10-12' ledge that approaches relatively close to shore. Very exposed to NW/N/NE, but quite settled in Al other directions. Light overnight wave action was soothing, not unpleasant.

We stayed when the wind was light and thoroughly enjoyed. Didn't see another person or boat except crabbing a little ways off. Walked the beach with the dogs. Saw amazing a sunset. Wind picked up the next morning making it tricky getting off the beach as waves hit shore.

Hit this spot on two calm days - didn't even notice if boats where in the channel - had a solid hook here. The dog was very happy running up and down the beach. Crab pots only major issue - normal for the sound. Not a place I'd pick if wind may be an issue.
