Description:
The North River at red daybeacon 182 has plenty of swing room and 12 to 18 feet MLW with good holding. The current is moderate in this entire area. Local fishing boats will come by but that usually dies down around dinner time.
NOTE: PER GA HB 833 DO NOT ANCHOR WITHIN 150 FEET OF A MARINE STRUCTURE SUCH AS A PRIVATE DOCK OR 300 FEET OF A MARINA, OR WITHIN 500 FEET OF APPROVED COMMERCIAL SHELLFISH GROWING AREAS.

This anchorage was a beautiful, quiet stay. The holding was great. We saw wind gusts into the 20s and didn't budge. There are many crab pots, so be aware. We stayed for one night and didn't see any other boats, but there is plenty of room for more boats to anchor.

Quiet anchorage, secure holding. Easy to enter on north side of marker, never saw less than 10 feet at mid tide. Keep to South side of North River for depth, then move to north side for anchoring --but watch out for crab traps all along the river. No real wind protection. 1-3 bars of internet, but no shore access or civilization.
