  • Reviews Summary

The reviews for Sea Gate Marina highlight it as a welcoming and well-maintained facility, often described as a "hidden gem." Guests appreciate the strong assistance from the staff, particularly the marina manager, Donna, who goes above and beyond to help with docking and other needs. The marina features clean restrooms and showers, a convenience store, and a pleasant lounge area, making it a comfortable stop for travelers. Many reviewers noted the friendly community atmosphere, with events like Wednesday night beer gatherings fostering camaraderie among residents and visitors.

However, there are some concerns regarding the marina's accessibility, with one reviewer mentioning difficulties entering the channel due to strong currents and shallow depths, leading to grounding issues. Despite this, the overall sentiment is positive, with many recommending the marina for its hospitality, clean facilities, and safe environment for pets. Fuel prices are generally considered reasonable, and the marina is appreciated for its protective location against weather. Overall, Sea Gate Marina is recommended for those looking for a quiet and friendly place to dock.

Great little marina. Current getting in is strong. Give a wide swing when entering the channel. Transient docks are right on the channel before the fuel dock. Fixed dock but at floating dock height for bumper placement. About 2-2.5 ft tidal swing. Great help with lines getting tied up as the current and wind was both pushing us away from dock. Wonderful staff, friendly and helpful. Nice little convenience store. Showers/restrooms clean. Laundry 1 ea washer/dryer but work well. Nice lounge area. Grounds are nice and great to take the dogs out and for a walk. Great quiet neighborhood for walks an walking the dogs. Stayed for 3 nights. Great spot to unwind after several straight days of travel and to get our next stops set up to cross more open water. Would recommend.

We had the pleasure of staying two nights at this marina on our trip north on the ICW. This truly is a hidden gem! I am the reluctant first mate and still want the assistance of someone grabbing a line for me as we enter a slip. When I shared my concerns with the marina manager Donna she was so incredibly helpful she arranged for two of her friends Kim and Larry to meet us at the dock and help grab our lines. Larry even came back and helped us move the boat later when we needed to reposition to accommodate our power cord. We stayed for two great nights which allowed us to participate in the Wednesday night $1.25 beer night. This brings the residents of this great community together for fun and fellowship and my husband was generously treated to a few beers from these friendly folks. They welcomed us and included us just as if we lived there. Honestly, the hospitality and customer service there would make me consider purchasing an home in this great community. The manager Donna even allowed us to use her personal car to drive to Beaufort for a quick lunch and to grab supplies. When my dog was dealing with a dental issue she even offered me the name of her vet and to use her car to take my dog to the vet. To say this was a fantastic place is an understatement. So if you want a quiet well protected marina with friendly people, clean facilities, lots of safe room to let your dog walk and even have a treat from the well stocked marina store plus a great price on fuel, make plans to stop at Sea Gate marina you will not be sorry that you did!

No answer on radio after multiple attempts. Sign states 6ft MLW however when we tried to get it in, we ran aground with 5'5" draft. Tide at the time was 1.1 above MLW.

October 22 2021 second time we have stayed here. Convenient store has some food and drink. Good protection if you need to hide from weather. Decent fuel prices for gas and diesel as a general rule here. Fixed dock for transient stays. Quiet community and friendly. Women,s shower room ok clean. Men's shower room needs a good cleaning though.

Hidden gem! Sea Gate was a great spot for us to leave our boat for a few months. Susan and Nicole were great -- constantly checking on our boat while we were away -- super helpful ladies! Great people, good gas prices, protected area.
