Everyday 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. ONLYLast Lockage Follow these guidelines to maximize chances of being locked through at the end of the day:
- Transit time: ~ 3 hours
- At Locks Nos. 1 and 5, arrive at least 30 minutes before the last lockage. The floating docks are located on starboard.
- Please take note that times of first and last lockages are not guaranteed. To maximize chances of being locked through, arrive early enough to allow complete lockages in both directions.
The Lachine Canal National Historic Site is open every day from sunrise to 11:00 p.m. Please note that facilities and services such as the restrooms are accessible only during operating hours. For emergencies after-hours, please call 911 for police, fire, ambulance.
Fees
Parks Canada is offering the Canada Strong Pass, free lockage from June 19 to September 7, 2026 inclusive. Regular fees apply from January 16 to June 18, 2026 inclusive and from September 8 to October 12, 2026 inclusive. For those visiting outside of the free admission dates, lockage permits are available on site at lock stations. Fees for lockage start at $1.50 per foot (single lock) up to $11.25 per foot (seasonal pass).
