On arrival look for the tie-up wall prior to the lock and await instructions from the locktender. Watch the lock traffic lights:
SOLID RED - Stop; lock not ready for ship.
FLASHING RED - Lock is being prepared for ship.
GREEN - When lock is clear, proceed. Lock is ready for entry.Pleasure Craft Toll per Lock: $30 (cash, U.S. or Canadian funds)
At the American locks in the Montreal/Lake Ontario section, tolls for upbound craft will be collected by the officer in charge at the Bertrand H. Snell lock. Tolls for downbound craft will be collected by the officer in charge at the Dwight D. Eisenhower lock. Every effort should be made to have the exact toll (cash) available. No premium will be allowed for currency exchange rates.
American locks do not accept credit cards nor sell tickets at the locks; however, tickets can be purchased in advance at the www.pay.gov website.
This lock uses automated hands-free mooring (HFM) technology for large ships. Pleasure craft are required to tie up and secure their vessels to the lock wall, often alongside other small vessels. The HFM vacuum system is generally not used for pleasure craft.

Vessel Type: Power
LOA: 25'
Draft: 2.5'On demand lock. Downbound tie up to wait is behind port side wall on approach. Approx 40 ft floating dock with rings. Wait there until lockmaster comes to collect cash for both locks. Bollard tie in lock on starboard side only. Bollards are numbered and lockmaster may assign a bollard to tie to.
