Follow these guidelines to maximize chances of being locked through at the end of the day:
- All vessels must arrive at the designated blue zone at last lockage time
- At swing bridges, the last bridge swing will be 10 minutes after last lockage time.
Lockstations are not staffed after-hours. Access to lockstations is prohibited between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am. For emergencies after-hours, please call 911 for police, fire, ambulance.
Lock 19 is located at south edge of Peterborough. Boaters will be able to find an ample range of services in this city of 75,000 inhabitants. By mooring below the lock station, boaters can extend the length of the cruising day as there are open river and lake runs all the way to Hastings; a distance of 60.5 km (37.6 miles).

Overnight mooring (2 nights max, pass required), camping (not recommended), paddle dock, washrooms, potable water, picnic area.
Below Lock 19 on the west wall there is mooring room for several boats in a very nice setting with shade trees and picnic tables. The painted blue line is on the east wall closest to the lock with some mooring behind it, but this area is farther from the washroom facilities and access to town. Above the lock, the painted blue line is on the west wall with mooring space after the line and before the bridge.
