Great Inagua dominates the southern Bahamas by landmass alone; it is almost 40 miles wide running east to west and 26 miles north to south. Its smaller sibling, Little Inagua, is just 5 nm away across a strait to the northeast. For the cruising visitor it lies almost directly on the Windward Passage route between The Bahamas and the Caribbean.
