Whitehall Bay - Browns Cove

  • Location: Whitehall Bay, Annapolis
  • Lat / Lon: N 38° 59.578' / W 076° 27.120'
  • Depth: 9-10
  • Description:

Great sheltered anchorage just off Whitehall Bay in Browns Cove, on the south side of Mill Creek, under the three retired NSS Annapolis Navy Transmission Towers. Typical Chesapeake Bay thick mud bottom (helpful to have an anchor wash-down pump). 9-10 feet throughout the anchorage. Very good holding. Open from the North but protected from all other directions. From the dinghy dock, follow the road from the marina to the entrance of the walking path for Greenbury Point. Approximately 2 miles of walking paths under the towers with views of the Bay and Annapolis Harbor.

DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
