Pungo Ferry Landing

Description:
The old landing has been removed but the piling are still in place and in good condition. 10' of water at the pilings parallel to the river with 8' along the perpendicular pilings. Quiet and peaceful at night. Daytime Navy jets fly over following the landing pattern for NAS Oceania (Virginia Beach)

This is essentially a number of pilings still in the water from an old dock. However, still a good place to tie on to. We were there with 3 other boats and there was room for one more small boat. I recommend trying to use the pilings parallel with the channel. If using the perpendicular pilings, hug the pilings tight as we hit bottom with a 5' draft trying to sneak further in as we didn't know if there was enough room with the boat already tied up. Not terribly protected but definitely a spot we'd stop again!

We hit mud between green day mark and north shore. Tied up to the pilings parallel with the channel in 10' water. It was Labor Day weekend so lots of day time boats.

Tied up to pilings with no issues at slack tide. A few barges passed by after dark. Secure and quiet. No services.

We stayed here for a night due to easy shore access for our dog and access to the park to play in. It's in a no wake zone but still got waked a bit. Some commercial barge traffic at night as well. Our biggest issue was our anchor fouled and pulled up a large tree stump with it.
