Isle of the Oneidas

Description:
Nice quite spot to drop the hook while waiting to move up stream. Light to Med current (all one way) and well protected from wind. Anchor in 9' water. Bottom is rocky but held "rock solid" all night.

We stopped here because the rain from a frontal passage was unrelenting. The holding is good, it is a rocky bottom but we had no problem getting the anchor to bite. It's extremely calm and we even had some winds blow through because of the frontal passage. Slight current. We saw no less than 10 feet coming in. Great stop on the Mohawk River.

The only drawback for a nice anchorage was the rocky bottom. Felt the anchor bounce along a little before biting. If your anchor can get a hold your golden.
