Previous reviews are spot on. A good anchorage 6 miles from the La Grange lock.

  • Free Dock Review for Peoria City Dock

I feel that this FREE dock has gotten somewhat of a bad rap. A buddy boat skipped because of the bird poop review … there was no bird poop the docks were clean but better in quality than Koochies, where we stayed last year. We used the inside broadside which had plenty of room for our Fleming. We were met by folks in the adjoining park who were probably not Peoria's elite, but they stayed off the docks and eventually went away.

After New York and the Hudson River, what is not to love about $1 per foot? The marina is a combination marina/campground but don't let that distract you. An Aldi is almost next door and there is a great Italian - pizza restaurant just beyond an auto parts shore ... all less than 1/4 mile.

The spring 2025 floods have taken their toll. The floating docks are at a 45 degree angle and unusable. Trash is at the square corner by the park. This should be bypassed until it is cleaned up and repaired.

Steve is the most personable dockmaster between Miami and Michigan. He works tirelessly to make sure everything is perfect for his temporary guests.
We recently stayed for almost 3 weeks waiting for the Erie Canal to open. We couldn't have picked a better spot. A car was easily rented from Enterprise and we had the entire Hudson River Valley was at our disposal. New York City was a 37 minute train ride to Grand Central on Metro North. All this for half the price of a marina in the city.
We are planning a northbound trip again next year (hopefully without the canal delay) and will by-pass New York City and make Half Moon our base of operations.

We stopped here last minute to avoid some storms overnight. Chuck the owner met us and even removed a fish cleaning table that would have interfered with our boat. Great folks and we would definitely return.

The restaurant was open and well patronized by locals. Great food and great service.

We arrived (late) the Friday before Memorial Day Weekend with a severe engine vibration. Ess-Kay (Kim and Ethan) made room for us, loaned us cars and even included us in their Memorial Day BBQ. Despite the holiday weekend they started calling and texting Cummins service companies and even arranged a diver for 1st thing Tuesday morning (who ruled out any running gear damage.
The "boat yard" is more like a park setting where you are made to feel like family, After a week we had our problem sorted out and at that point, almost hated to leave. We won't be passing through Brewerton without stopping next year.
And - the lowest diesel fuel prices between Norfolk VA and the Great Lakes ...

Rock Hall Landing had the fastest and strongest pump out between Florida and the Chesapeake. They have great service and the facilities are clean and well kept. A full fleet of bicycles is new and available. But, the number 1 reason for stopping in Rock Hall is the Waterman's Crab House. Best Crab Cakes on the bay.

This is a great and welcoming marina as other reviews have pointed out.
St. Mary's goes all out to welcome you and the town is clean and a great walk
I would bypass Fernandina again to stop here.
The only possible negative is that the docks are somewhat exposed to a southeast wind
