Our biggest issue was when we booked, we called the Orleans Marina and were told our pier and slip number as well as gate codes. At no time were we told we would be at South Shore Harbor. Which is 7 miles by boat. There was only a security guard at the site, thankfully the harbor master at the other marina gave us their number or we would never have gotten here. There is a bathroom and New Pumpout station but other than that there is nothing remotely close by. They have a huge seagull population and the dock was covered in poop. It took 3 power poles to find one that worked and 2 tries at water connection that didn't leak. The rate was high compared to other locations we've been at and if charged the same as the Orleans location, it should be a crime. It is very quiet, which was a plus and felt secure behind the gate, though I wouldn't go outside the gate at night.

Was docked there 1/25/2021. Was overall pretty disappointed. They advertise on their facebook and google that they have gas / pump out and a convenience store - they have none of those amenities!!! Walking around here is like an episode of the "Walking Dead". The nearest convenience store ain't convenient. (about 1.2 miles away) Also, I had a guest to come visit and needed the gate code so they could come in and park - marina didn't answer phone nor did they ever return my call. Guest had to walk a bit to get to me and we were schlepping laundry to them! Did have electricity and water - only.

Misleading information. They don’t have gas or a convenience store. The nearest one on foot is about a mile away. They do have ice and pump out, electric (30/50) and water. The restrooms / showers are hopelessly far away as transient slips are on other side of marina (at least ours was being a 45’). It’s a little creepy here too - like something out of the Walking Dead.

The marina website nor the listing on Waterway Guide Explorer states they have fuel.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Inexpensive marina if coming to New Orleans. Biggest issue is transportation. This marina doesn’t have stores or restaurants close by. But if you have access to transportation it is great. Clean, well managed and secure.
