DE: Indian River Inlet - Rehoboth Bay, Rehoboth Avenue Bridge Closures

Rehoboth Avenue Bridge Mariners are advised that the Rehoboth Avenue Bridge, spanning the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal at mile 6.7 in Rehoboth Beach, Sussex County, Delaware, will undergo cleaning and painting operations. To facilitate maintenance, the bridge will be maintained in the closed-to-navigation position from October 17, 2025, through January 12, 2026. During the closure, a suspended work platform with containment will be installed, reducing the vertical clearance by no more than two (2) feet, leaving approximately 13 feet of vertical clearance above mean high water. The bridge will not be able to open for emergencies.
Vessels able to safely transit through the bridge in the closed-to-navigation position with the reduced vertical clearance of 13 feet above mean high water may do so at any time. At all other times, the bridge will operate in accordance with Title 33 CFR Part 117.239. Mariners may contact the bridge tender via VHF-FM channels 13 or 16 for assistance or additional information. At all other times, the bridge will operate in accordance with Title 33 CFR Part 117.239. Mariners are advised to exercise caution and plan their transits accordingly.
