William Preston Lane Junior Memorial Westbound Bridge. Mariners are advised that an engineering firm, on behalf of Maryland Transportation Authority, will be performing maintenance in the main navigation spans of the William Preston Lane Junior Memorial Eastbound Bridge, across the Chesapeake Bay, mile 138.0, between Skidmore and Stevensville, MD and the William Preston Lane Junior Memorial Westbound Bridge, across the Chesapeake Bay, mile 138.1, between Skidmore and Stevensville, MD.
The maintenance will be conducted from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Monday-Saturday; from September 29, 2025, through December 31, 2025, except Federal holidays. A tugboat, work vessels, and a crane barge will be located in and around the vicinity of the bridges. During the work hours, the crane barge will be located parallel to the navigation channel of the bridges which will reduce the horizontal clearance of the bridges to approximately 1400 feet, and will not affect navigation through the bridges. Vessels that can safely transit through the bridge during periods with a reduced horizontal clearance may do so at any time. Work vessels may be reached on VHF-FM channel 13 and 16.
