Seven Seas Cruising Association (SSCA) and Waterway Guide are proud to celebrate the extraordinary work of Bob Sherer ("Bob423"), a respected ICW navigation expert, author, and long-time contributor to Waterway Guide. Bob will receive the SSCA President's Award during the Melbourne Cruisers Conference & GAM, November 14–16, 2025, at the Front Street Civic Center in Melbourne, Florida.

Since joining Waterway Guide in 2018, Bob has been a cornerstone in the development of the ICW Cruising Guide Facebook community (now over 24,000 members) and has worked closely with NOAA, USCG, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to improve boater safety. His detailed ICW tracks have led to four relocated NOAA channels and are now embedded in major digital charting platforms such as AquaMap and Timezero.

Bob's commitment to accuracy, education, and collaboration has earned him the respect of both professional mariners and weekend cruisers alike. His work exemplifies the partnership between Waterway Guide and cruising organizations such as SSCA, all organizations dedicated to improving the cruising experience through trusted information and community connection.

Bob will serve as keynote speaker at the Melbourne GAM on Saturday, November 15, following his ICW navigation seminar earlier during the seminar programs. The event will also feature presentations by Kerry Gonzales (AMG Insurance International), Commodore Scott Berg, and Chris Parker (Marine Weather Center).

Waterway Guide readers, as well as  Bob Sherer supporters,  are invited to join SSCA in Melbourne to celebrate Bob's achievements and connect with fellow cruisers.
